We have been working with Ella on potty training for a while now. At first she loved panties, and then didn't want to wear them. Then she liked sitting on her potty seat, then refused to sit on the toilet completely. She was almost 100% potty trained at daycare, but refused to use the toilet at home, which completly frustrated Scott and I. Some friends of ours that have a daughter about a year older than Ella suggested we get Ella her own potty. I wasn't too thrilled with the idea. I thought it would be messy, and I thought the novelty would wear off after about a day - Ella has a VERY short attention span. Well the potty has worked. She has been doing GREAT with the potty that we (for obvious reasons) call "Froggy".
I was ready to tell everyone that Ella was potty trained. I can't remember the last time she had an accident, and her pull-up is even dry in the morning when she wakes up! We threw the Diaper Genie away last weekend (it had been through a rough time with the move and 32 months of diapers!) Then it happened... Ella peed on the rug in the living room last night. Not once, but twice, in less than a half an hour. I don't know what happened. I was cooking dinner and she was "playing" Candy Land. Maybe she was so into her game she forgot to go potty. I can understand once, but twice? Hopefully it was a one-time thing.
Here is a picture of Ella "going potty" and reading Scott's fishing catalog. It's so cute, I had to share!
