Bonding with Papa Lou (and Grandma Mary Ann)

I had to go to Las Vegas for work last week, and I was gone from Monday morning through Thursday evening. Ella spent a lot of time with my parents, especially since Scott had two baseball games that week, one on Monday night and one on Tuesday night.

At daycare it was "food" week in Ella's class and the kids were encouraged to bring in foods that represented their heritage. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for Ella to help "Papa Lou" make some traditional Polish cookies. They made Kolacky (fruit filled cookies for all of you non-Polish reading this).

From the pictures and the report I got, everything seemed to go well. But Ella always seems to listen and follow directions so much better when I am not involved, so I am sure everything was fine!

Ella even seemed to miss me a little while I was gone. When I got home she told me "I got my mommy back" - so cute! She also seems to have bonded more with Scott. He had to wash her hair last night, and she is much more willing to hang out with him and give me a little space. I've only been home a few days, though! I am sure it will be back to normal in no time...
